This 1966 Ford Mustang is a factory-built GT coupe built on November 5, 1965 and acquired by the seller in Tennessee in 1990. The car is finished in Sauterne Gold Metallic over a black vinyl interior, and power is supplied by an A-code 289ci V8. A four-speed manual transmission has been installed in place of the factory automatic, and additional equipment includes Magnum 500 wheels, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and an aftermarket tachometer. A repaint was performed in 1994, while more recent work in 2020 is reported to have included an engine rebuild. This Mustang is now offered at no reserve with New York registration.

The car was previously painted in 1967-model year lime gold and received a two-stage repaint in its factory shade of Sauterne Gold Metallic (Z) in 1994. A replacement rear valance was reportedly installed, rust in the front floor boards was repaired with welded-in patch panels, and a dent in the passenger fender was also repaired. GT-specific features include a grille bar with integrated fog lamps, lower body stripes in place of rocker moldings, and dual exhausts exiting from the rear valance. The seller notes minor paint blisters around the driver-side rear wheel arch.

Magnum 500 wheels measure 14″ in diameter and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised white letter tires sized 205/70. The factory GT special handling package included a quick-ratio steering box, larger sway bar, stiffer front coils, and rear springs. The front suspension was refreshed with replacement springs, shocks, tie rod ends, and polyurethane bushings following the seller’s purchase in 1990. The front brake calipers and rear drums were also rebuilt around this time, and the rear shocks were replaced.
