This 1966 Plymouth Satellite two-door hardtop is said to have been purchased new in California, and the seller reportedly acquired the car from the original owner’s granddaughter in 2019 soon after a refurbishment had been conducted. Power is provided by a 361ci V8 paired with a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and the car is finished in gold over matching vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes Magnum 500–style wheels, dual exhaust, power-assisted steering, a push-button AM radio, front bucket seats, and a center console. This Satellite is now offered with a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Citron Gold Metallic (ZZ1), and the seller states that it was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior details include a hood ornament, chrome bumpers, bright rocker-panel and side trim, a driver-side mirror, Commando V8 badges, and dual exhaust outlets. Touch-up paintwork is noted above the driver-side taillight.
Magnum 500–style 14” wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown radial red-line tires. Braking is via unassisted four-wheel drums, and the car is equipped with power steering. The seller states that the chassis was lubricated in August 2023.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in gold-colored vinyl with decorative embossing that carries over to the matching door panels. Details include a push-button AM radio, lap belts, and a center console with a storage compartment. The air conditioning has been converted to use R134a refrigerant, and the seller states that the A/C does not blow cold. The headliner exhibits wear and was not replaced during the refurbishment.
The woodgrain steering wheel sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 1,300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 361ci V8 was reportedly serviced by changing the oil and replacing the air filter in August 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.
The fender tag indicates that the vehicle is a 1966 Plymouth Satellite hardtop (RP23) that left the factory equipped with a 361ci V8 featuring a two-barrel carburetor (AB51) along with a three-speed automatic transmission (C5). The tag also reveals that the car was originally finished in Citron Gold Metallic paint (ZZ1) over gold-colored vinyl upholstery (P4Y).
