LT5-Powered 1966 Pontiac LeMans Hardtop 6-Speed

This 1966 Pontiac LeMans hardtop was acquired by the seller in 2015 and subsequent work at Kenny’s Rod Shop of Boise, Idaho, consisted of installing a replacement 5.7-liter LT5 V8 and a Tremec six-speed manual transmission along with replacing suspension, braking, interior, and exterior components. The car is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery and features air conditioning, Dakota Digital instrumentation, a Kenwood Bluetooth-capable stereo, tinted windows, power steering, Wilwood disc brakes, billet Riviera wheels, and Ridetech coilovers, Strong Arm control arms, and sway bars. This LeMans is now offered with a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in red and is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Features include a hood scoop, stacked headlights, split front grilles, chrome bumpers, polished rocker moldings, tinted windows, LeMans badges, and a dual-outlet exhaust system that exits below the rear bumper. There is a ding on the roof and chips in the paint.

Billet 17″ Riviera wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich gForce Sport tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering as well as Ridetech coilovers, Strong Arm control arms, and front and rear sway bars. Braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood discs at all four corners.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in black vinyl and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard pad, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a custom center console, an American Autowire wiring harness, a Hurst shifter, carbon-fiber dashboard trim, Lokar pedals, retractable lap belts, air conditioning, an amplifier, aftermarket speakers, and a Kenwood Bluetooth-capable stereo. The battery and fuse block have been relocated to the trunk.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a Dakota Digital 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The digital odometer indicates 3,300 miles, all of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 5.7-liter dual overhead cam LT5 V8 was installed under current ownership at Kenny’s Rod Shop and features a red-finished intake manifold and valve covers as well as tubular exhaust headers. An Aeromotive fuel tank and pump are said to have been installed.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear axle. A fabricated dual exhaust with Flowmaster-style mufflers has been installed.
