1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Coupe

Sold for $26,500 on 5/28/21

This 1967 Pontiac Firebird coupe was delivered new in Fairborn, Ohio, and was acquired by the seller in Nebraska in January 2015. The car is finished in gold over a matching vinyl interior and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power-assisted brakes, power steering, air conditioning, and an AM radio. Maintenance in the past year is said to include a tune-up, alignment, and an oil change. This first-year Firebird is now offered with documentation from Pontiac Historic Services, a car cover, and a clean Nebraska title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory in Coronado Gold and was refinished during previous ownership. Features include quad headlights, dual hood scoops, chrome rocker covers and bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 14″ wheels are wrapped in redline tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted brakes, and the front end is said to have been aligned in June 2020.

The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Medium Gold vinyl along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes polished sill plates and front and rear seat belts. The seller notes that an antenna cable is needed for the AM radio and that the air-conditioning system does not retain a charge.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller. The fuel gauge reportedly works intermittently, and total mileage is unknown.

The 400ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The engine is said to have received a tune-up and an oil change in November 2020, and the carburetor was rebuilt within the last 1k miles.

The engine block stamping 604866 corresponds with the engine unit number listed on the billing invoice presented below, and the YT code indicates a Firebird 400ci V8 with an automatic transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and a Performance rear axle. Additional underbody photos are presented in the gallery below.
