This International Harvester Scout got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1968 International Harvester Scout 800 is powered by a 304ci V8 mated to a 3-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The selling dealer acquired the truck last year and has since performed a repaint and modifications including power steering, front disc brakes, a Pertronix electronic ignition, and more. Recent mechanical work reportedly consisted of a new driveshaft, brake lines, and dual fuel tanks. This Scout 800 is offered with receipts from the last year and a clean Colorado title.
The truck was repainted in red earlier this year and features a removable steel hardtop finished in metallic grey. Additional amber lights have been added front and rear along with aftermarket bumpers and headlight brush guards.
Aftermarket 16” wheels are wrapped in Thunderer Trac Grip M/T all-terrain tires. Front disc brakes, fresh brake lines, and a power steering system have been added by the seller.
The cabin features bolstered fabric sport seats, a center console, and a 2-spoke steering wheel mounted to a Chevrolet column. The dashboard has been painted black, and AutoMeter gauges replace the factory instrumentation. The odometer was set to zero during the recent work and now shows just under 300 miles, with total mileage unknown. No radio or glovebox liner are installed.
Power is from a 304ci V8 coupled with a 3-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The seller installed a Pertronix electronic ignition system in addition to a new Painless Performance wiring harness.
The driveshaft, oil pan gasket, and both fuel tanks were recently replaced along with the tank switching valve. Records from the recent work are included in the sale, and additional undercarriage photos are viewable below.
