This Buick Gran Sport got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1969 Buick GS 400 hardtop coupe is finished in Crystal Blue over a matching interior and was originally delivered to Boulevard Buick of Long Beach, California. It remained in California until being relocated to Indiana in 2003. A subsequent refurbishment about 10 years later reportedly included repainting the exterior, refreshing the interior, and rebuilding the powertrain. The 400ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear end. The seller acquired the car out of North Carolina in 2020 and has since re-balanced the driveshaft and serviced the transmission and the factory air conditioning. This GS 400 is offered with its Protect-O-Plate, a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records from current ownership, and a clean Ohio title.

The car was originally finished in Twilight Blue (51) with a Crystal Blue (53) roof, and it was repainted by a previous owner in a Crystal Blue finish accented with a dark blue vinyl top. The paint and exterior trim are shown in detail in the photo gallery below, including a paint crack along the Ram Air hood grille. Features include quad headlights, GS badging, and chrome bumpers and trim. A walk-around video by the seller further shows the exterior.

Polished 14″ Buick Rallye wheels with Buick-branded centers are mounted with Cooper Cobra tires. A full-size spare mounted with a Remington tire is located in the trunk. Power-assisted disc brakes are complemented by rear drums, and the selected Rallye Ride Control package (F41) featured firmer shocks and springs.

The 400ci V8 was factory rated to produce 340 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque when new, and it is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership. Service performed by the seller included re-balancing the driveshaft, a cooling system flush, changing the oil and differential fluid, replacing the differential cover gasket, and transmission-pan gasket and filter, and replacing the air-conditioning compressor and receiver/drier, which retains R12 refrigerant. A rebuild of the stock Quadrajet carburetor was completed in May 2020 according to the seller.

A copy of the window sticker shows options, equipment, initial delivery to Boulevard Buick, and a $4,660.39 retail price. Materials that accompany the car include service records, factory literature, and the Protect-O-Plate. There is currently a lien on this vehicle, and the seller’s bank will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner.
