This Fiat 124 Spider (1966-1985) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1969 Fiat 124 Spider was reportedly purchased new in Cincinnati, Ohio and driven 29k miles by its first owner before being parked in 1976 due to a slipping clutch. The car is said to have been stored until the current owner purchased it in 2015, and 200 miles have been driven since completion of a recent refurbishment including a repaint in Electric Blue Metallic, refreshment of its 1,438cc Lampredi inline-four and 5-speed manual transmission, fuel and braking system overhauls, interior work, and more. This Spider is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with refurbishment photos and documents as well as a clean Ohio title.

Originally green, the body was prepped with corrosion removal and a coat of epoxy primer before a repaint in the BMW/Mini shade of Electric Blue Metallic (870). The finish is said to show small flaws and light orange peel.

Stock 13″ steel wheels were media-blasted and refinished before being fitted with polished hubcaps and new 175/70 tires. The seller states that the bumpers were rechromed and coated with epoxy primer to protect the back sides, and exterior hardware was reportedly replaced with stainless pieces wherever possible.

A walk-around video above further details the cosmetic condition and shows operation of the new vinyl top, which was installed over a refinished folding frame.  H4 headlight assemblies with LED bulbs were also installed.

Interior components were reconditioned where possible, including the door panels, Veglia Borletti gauges, and heater. Seat covers in the 2+2 cockpit were not replaced and show minor scuffing. Wood dash and console veneers were refinished, and new carpet lines the cabin.

The heater box was rebuilt with new seals and control cables, and the wiring harness was inspected for faults. The heater core was flushed and tested before reinstallation. New door and window seals were fitted throughout. Just over 29,300 miles are shown on the odometer, 200 of which have been added by the owner.

The 1,438cc Lampredi twin-cam four was disassembled and the block was shell-blasted. Internals were reused, while the cylinder head was overhauled with a valve job and polished cams. New bearings, seals, rings, and gaskets were fitted along with replacement water and oil pumps and a rebuilt carburetor. The 5-speed manual transmission was rebuilt with new seals and gaskets, and installed with a new clutch and resurfaced flywheel.
