1969 International Harvester Scout 800

This 1969 International Harvester Scout 800 was sold new in Raton, New Mexico, and was purchased by the seller in 2020. The truck is finished in red over black and is powered by a 266ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Work performed during current ownership included the installation of replacement floor pans, lower quarter panels, and fuel tank mounting areas, and a Holley carburetor, aftermarket fuel tanks, and PerTronix ignition have been added. This Scout 800 is now offered with a removable hardtop, a replacement soft top, factory literature, purchase documents, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.

The truck is finished in red and is equipped with a replacement Softopper black soft top. Replacement lower quarter panels were installed during current ownership to correct rust, and the paint is worn on various body panels. Dents and corrosion can be viewed up close in the gallery. The sale includes a white removable hardtop equipped with a Yakima roof rack.

Factory 15″ steel wheels are finished in black and wear 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. Polished hubcaps are included in the sale. The truck is equipped with replacement front and rear brake drums, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders, stainless steel brake hoses, and a CPT suspension from IH Parts America that includes upgraded front and rear leaf springs, shackle sets, ½” U-bolts, and Bilstein 5125 shocks.

The cabin is painted body-color and features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in replacement black marine-grade vinyl. Equipment includes a Boss Bluetooth receiver and a heater, the latter of which is fitted with replacement ducting. Replacement floor panels were installed during the seller’s ownership.

The black dashboard features a silver trim panel and houses the stock radio and the controls for the Bluetooth receiver. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The speedometer and turn signal switch were replaced during current ownership. The replacement five-digit odometer shows 36k miles, 1,200 of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The 266ci V8 is equipped with a Holley carburetor, a PerTronix electronic ignition system, and an Optima battery. Work performed during current ownership is said to have included a radiator flush and the installation of a replacement alternator, starter motor, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and wires, polyurethane fuel tanks, and fuel sending units.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with 3.73:1 axles and replacement fuel tank pans.
