1969 Mercury Cougar

This 1969 Mercury Cougar was sold new at Blue Grass Mercury in Louisville, Kentucky and was acquired by the seller in April 2018. Finished in Medium Lime Green with a black vinyl roof over a black interior, the car is powered by a replacement Jasper 351ci V8 equipped with a Holley 600-cfm carburetor and mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include hideaway headlamps, polished American Racing wheels, an aftermarket FM radio transmitter, a Weiand intake manifold, power steering, Wilwood front disc brakes, and more. This Cougar is offered with the original purchase documents, removed A/C components, partial service records from current ownership, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in Medium Lime Metallic (I) and features a black vinyl roof, hideaway headlamps, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome detailing on the grille, bumpers, side moldings, and badging. Imperfections captured in the gallery include a tear in the vinyl top and corrosion in the trunk, as well as rust and bubbling behind both rear wheels. Chrome 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The Master Power braking system features Wilwood front discs and replacement lines, and a Borgeson power steering kit has reportedly been added. The seller states that the front suspension has been refreshed, while the rear shocks and bushings should be replaced.

The black interior features vinyl seating, woodgrain dash inserts, and a perforated headliner. Amenities include a push-button AM radio, an aftermarket FM transmitter installed below the glove box, and an aftermarket center console tray with cupholders. The seller notes that the A/C components have been removed but are included in the sale.

A two-spoke steering wheel with an aftermarket lace-up cover sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows under 42k miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added during current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The replacement Jasper 351ci long block V8 was reportedly installed in April 2020 and is said to be fitted with a Holley 600-cfm carburetor, a Weiand intake manifold, an aluminum radiator, Ford-script valve covers, and an electronic ignition system. The seller notes the fuel system has been overhauled with a replacement tank, filler neck, lines, and pump.
