This BMW 2002 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1970 BMW 2002 is finished in Chamonix white over blue vinyl and is powered by a Weber-carbureted 2.0-liter M10 inline-four. The car was reportedly first registered in California, relocated to Texas around 2010, and returned to California in 2014 where it was acquired by the seller in 2019. The seller commissioned a five-speed manual transmission conversion, and additional services during his ownership include replacement of fuel lines and alternator bushings, a carburetor adjustment, and an oil and filter change. Equipment includes front sport seats, dual chrome mirrors, chrome bumpers, 13″ alloy wheels, and air conditioning. This 2002 is now offered with recent service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was repainted in the original Chamonix white during prior ownership and retains factory side moldings, slim chrome bumpers, and tri-color round taillights. The seller notes imperfections in the paintwork, close-up photos of which are provided in the gallery.

Silver-finished 13″ alloy wheels feature BMW center caps and are mounted with 170/70 Kumho Solus TA11 tires showing 2017 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features manually adjustable front sport seats from a later model BMW upholstered in blue vinyl, and matching blue vinyl covers the rear seats and door panel inserts. Equipment includes a radio and air conditioning, and a fire extinguisher is mounted in the right-front foot well. The current owner repaired the dimmer switch and horn wiring.

The leather-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with 6,400-rpm redline, and a combination temperature and fuel-level gauge. The speedometer was repaired and the odometer drive wheel was replaced in April 2020. 72k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 500 of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four is fitted with a Weber 32/36 carburetor. Service during current ownership included adding an inline fuel filter, correcting the under-hood wiring, setting the timing, an oil change, a carburetor adjustment, and replacement of the fuel hoses, alternator bushings, accessory belt, and alternator and air-conditioning compressor brackets. Invoices from the seller’s ownership are provided in the gallery.

The seller commissioned a five-speed transmission swap in February 2020, and new components include the clutch master and slave cylinders, a 228mm clutch disc, the throw-out bearing, transmission mount, propshaft flex discs, and more shown on an included invoice. The seller notes that since the car was photographed the rear halfshaft CV boots were replaced and the hole in the muffler was patched. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
