1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst

This 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst is one of approximately 500 examples produced for a single model year. It is finished in Spinnaker White with Sauterne Mist Gold accents over tan leather upholstery and powered by a 440ci V8 paired with a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Equipment includes a vented fiberglass hood, 15″ wheels, chrome bumpers and trim, hide-away headlights, a rear spoiler, stiffer rear springs and larger torsion bars, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, and an AM radio. The car was acquired by the current owner in Oregon five years ago, and work carried out in anticipation of the sale consisted of rebuilding the brake booster, repairing the heater switches, and replacing the spark plugs and wires, horn, heater control valve, heater hoses, and coolant. This 300H is now offered on dealer consignment with recent service records, previous ownership documents, and a clean Oregon title assigned to the owner’s trust.

All Hurst examples were finished in Spinnaker White with orange pinstriping and Sauterne Mist Gold accents on the hood, decklid, side panels, front grille, and taillights. Equipment includes hide-away headlights, a fiberglass hood with a Power Bludge, chrome bumpers and trim, a molded rear spoiler, rear fender extensions, dual exhaust outlets, and 300H badging.

Steel 15″ wheels wear model-specific chrome hubcaps and are wrapped in 225/70 Goodyear PolySteel Radial tires. The 300 Hurst was equipped with larger torsion bars and stiffer rear springs than the standard 300, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features tan leather on the power-adjustable front seats and rear bench. Additional equipment includes power windows, floor mats, a locking glove box, heating and air conditioning, and an AM radio. In November 2022, the heater levers were repaired and the horn was replaced.

A three-spoke steering wheel with an aftermarket cover fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, gauges for charging and fuel level, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 8k of which were added by the owner.

The 440ci V8 is equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor capped with a “TNT” air cleaner. Factory-rated output was 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Records indicate the engine was rebuilt in 2012. Work carried out in anticipation of the sale consisted of rebuilding the brake booster as well as replacing the spark plugs and wires, heater control valve, heater hoses, and coolant.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TorqueFlight 727 automatic transmission and a 3.23:1 rear differential. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
