1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Coupe Ram Air III 4-Speed

This 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge coupe was initially delivered to Rex Pontiac of Jackson Heights, New York, and is said to have been acquired by the seller from its original owner in September 2022. Finished in red over black vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 400ci Ram Air III V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 14″ Rally II wheels, power steering, front disc brakes, a Ram Air hood, an “airfoil” rear wing, “The Judge” decals, a hood-mounted tachometer, and a Hurst T-handle shifter. Service performed under current ownership is said to have involved replacing the rear main seal and clutch as well as refreshing the fluids. This GTO is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, original sales paperwork, a copy of the build sheet, and a New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory in Cardinal Red (75), and the seller notes evidence of previous paintwork on the Ram Air hood, left-front fender, and driver’s door. Further exterior details include a hood-mounted tachometer, an “airfoil” rear wing, a chrome rear bumper, a left mirror, tricolor graphics, “Judge” decals on the front fenders, and quadruple exhaust outlets. Mud flaps are fitted on the right side only, and the Endura front bumper is cracked. The seller notes chips, dings, and other imperfections in the finish shown in the gallery below.

The 14″ Rally II wheels are mounted with G70-14 Firestone Super Sports white-letter tires, and a matching spare is stored in the trunk compartment. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. All four wheels show wear.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Woodgrain trim adorns the instrument surround, and additional appointments include “The Judge” badging and floor mats as well as lap belts, a heater, and a Hurst T-handle shifter. The push-button AM/FM radio and aftermarket alarm system do not work, and the center console lid is cracked.

A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and a non-functioning clock. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 400ci Ram Air III V8 features a four-barrel carburetor, a functional Ram Air system, and polished valve covers. Factory-rated output was 366 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The rear main seal was replaced in 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Work performed in 2022 is said to have involved replacing the clutch and refreshing the fluids.

The New Jersey title carries a “Mileage Exceeds the Mechanical Limits” odometer brand.
