1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 4-Speed

This 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is finished in silver with black stripes over black cloth upholstery, and it reportedly remained with its prior owner for nearly 40 years before the seller acquired it in October 2011. The car is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, chrome trim, front bucket seats, woodgrain interior trim, a Hurst shifter, a tachometer, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This Z28 is now offered with an owner’s manual, a Body Broadcast Copy, a Protect-O-Plate, spare parts, and a clean Illinois title.

The body left the factory finished in Nevada Silver (13) with black stripes and was reportedly repainted under prior ownership in the mid-1990s. Features include front and rear lip spoilers, Z28 badging, color-keyed side mirrors, and chrome trim on the grille, bumpers, rocker panels, and light surrounds.The seller notes sections of body panels were repaired and filled before the car was repainted, and images showing paint and body imperfections are provided in the gallery.

The 15″ steel wheels wear bright trim rings along with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums. A spare wheel is stored in the trunk, and there are a variety of stickers on the underside of the trunk lid. An additional set of wheels is included in the sale.

The cabin features high-back front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black cloth and complimented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Woodgrain trim lines the door panels and dashboard, and additional interior equipment includes a console-mounted Hurst gear shifter, a locking glove box, bright door sill guards, Z28-embroidered floor mats, and a push-button AM/FM radio. Replacement seat cushions and upholstery are included in the sale and pictured in the gallery along with additional spares.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges showing fuel level, amperage and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 86k miles, approximately 350 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor, an orange-painted engine block, a bright air cleaner cover, and finned valve covers. There is evidence of corrosion in the engine bay.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Underside corrosion is present, and additional underside images are provided in the gallery.
