454-Powered 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Sport Coupe

This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle sport coupe was fitted with a built 454ci V8 and repainted yellow with a purple frame around 2018. The three-speed TH400 automatic transmission was reportedly modified and fitted with a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter at that time, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers was added, along with tubular headers, 15″ Ridler wheels, and a B&M shifter. Procar bucket seats were installed following the seller’s acquisition in 2022, and additional equipment includes power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, shaved door handles, and a Delco push-button AM radio. This Chevelle is now offered with Ontario registration in the seller’s name.

The door handles and trunk lock were shaved and the body was repainted yellow around 2018, reportedly following replacement of the quarter panels, trunk pan, wheel wells, and floors. “SS454” badging has been added and the exterior trim was re-chromed at that time.

The 15″ Ridler five-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires that were installed in May 2023 and measure 225/60 up front and 275/60 out back. A spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs with purple calipers and purple-finished rear drums, and the car is additionally equipped with power steering and a front sway bar. The brakes were reportedly refreshed and the shocks and ball joints replaced in 2018.

The cabin is trimmed in black and features purple carpets along with Procar front bucket seats that were installed under current ownership. Replacement three-point front seat belts were also added, and additional equipment includes a floor-mounted B&M shifter, Chevrolet-logo floor mats, a heater, and a Delco push-button AM radio.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and an analog clock in addition to readouts for amperage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, approximately 700 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 454ci V8 is equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, chrome valve covers, and tubular headers. The engine was reportedly built with Keith Black pistons, and the wiring harness is also said to have been replaced at the time of the install. A purple-finished radiator support, hood hinges, and other trim has been added to the engine bay. The battery was replaced and the oil was changed in May 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission that was reportedly modified and fitted with a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter. The rear axle, front suspension components, frame, and other underside components have been finished in purple.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its Ontario registration.
