This Citroen DS got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Citroën DS21 Pallas was built on December 29, 1970, and was sold new by G.B. Motor Co. of Reno, Nevada. It is said to have been stored by its second owner from 1993 to 2015, at which point it was acquired by the seller and subsequently refurbished. Work was completed in 2021, and the vehicle was listed on BaT in August of that year and acquired by the current owner shortly thereafter. The car has been refinished in Platinum Blue over brown leather upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 2,175cc inline-four paired with a four-speed semi-automatic transmission. Features include a hydropneumatic suspension, powdercoated 15″ wheels, inboard front disc brakes, and a Clarion AM/FM radio. In preparation for the sale the oil and coolant were changed. This DS is now offered in Washington by the seller on behalf of the owner with manuals, a Citroën maintenance book, refurbishment photos, and a clean Oregon title in the name of the owner’s LLC.

The Flaminio Bertoni–designed body was disassembled and is said to have been repainted in Glasurit Platinum Blue under previous ownership in 2021. Features include stainless-steel C-pillar trim, gold-colored DS21 badging, a fiberglass roof panel, twin side mirrors, and polished stainless-steel bumpers.

The 15″ steel wheels have been powdercoated gray and wear chrome hubcaps along with Vredestein Sprint Classic radial tires. A matching spare is stored under the hood, ahead of the engine. The hydropneumatic suspension system was refreshed in 2021 with a replacement hydraulic pump, regulator, six spheres, clutch re-engagement control, and centrifugal regulator. Overhauls of the power-assisted steering rack and the inboard front-disc-brake systems also were reportedly performed.

The replacement 2,175cc inline-four was removed and reportedly rebuilt in 2020 along with the carburetor. Other work included refurbishing the radiator and replacing the starter, fuel pump, and exhaust. The coolant and the oil were changed in September 2022.
