This Fiat 124 Spider (1966-1985) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Fiat 124 Spider was featured on a 2019 episode of the television show Wheeler Dealers in which the car was refurbished with work that involved refreshing the interior, overhauling the brakes, and replacing the clutch assembly. Power is provided by a 1,608cc inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a replacement black soft top, chrome bumpers, 13″ steel wheels, chrome hubcaps, wood veneer interior trim, and an AM/FM push-button radio. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in October 2022, and subsequent maintenance has included replacing the antenna mast and taillight lenses as well as the front crankshaft seal and various engine gaskets. This 124 Spider is now offered at no reserve with a tool kit, spare parts, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-designed body was factory finished in Amaranth (162) and features a replacement black soft top as well as chrome bumpers and rocker panel trim. A dent at the front of the hood was repaired under previous ownership, while the antenna mast, windshield wipers, and taillight lenses were replaced following the seller’s acquisition. Paint fade is visible near the decklid badge, and other paint blemishes are pictured in the gallery.

Black-finished 13″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 185/70 Barum Brillantis 2 tires showing 2018 date codes. The car features an independent suspension up front as well as a live axle setup out back. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The brake booster, master cylinder, and reservoir as well as the emergency brake cable are said to have been replaced under previous ownership. Work performed during the aforementioned refurbishment included replacing the brake calipers, rotors, and pads along with the wheel bearings, front suspension bushings, carrier bearings, and axle seals.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline accompanied by a 140-mph speedometer, an inoperative clock, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, less than 500 of which have been added under current ownership. The speedometer cable and drive gear were reportedly replaced under previous ownership, and total mileage is unknown.

Power comes from a 1,608cc DOHC inline-four that features a single carburetor. The inlet manifold, timing belt, alternator, voltage regulator, battery, water pump, and radiator hoses are said to have been replaced under previous ownership. Work performed in January 2023 included replacing the front crankshaft seal and crankcase breather hose as well as the gaskets for the cylinder head, camshaft housing, distributor, water outlet, oil filter, and fuel pump. A removed carburetor and intake manifold are included in the sale.
