This Ford Bronco U13/U14/U15 1966-1977 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Ford Bronco is finished in dark metallic green with a Wimbledon White hard top and underwent a refurbishment with several upgrades beginning in 2009 while owned by a photographer who used it for photo shoots. Power is supplied by a 302ci V8 that was rebuilt and bored out to 306ci. The 3-speed automatic transmission and transfer case were also overhauled. Other modifications include differentials from a 1977 Bronco, power steering, power brakes with discs up front and drums in the back, a 4-core radiator with transmission cooler, MSD ignition, a dual Flowmaster exhaust, and more. Acquired by the selling dealer about a month ago, this Bronco has been driven approximately 8k miles since the powertrain rebuild and is offered with records since 2009 and a clear Oregon title.

The dark green exterior underwent a full repaint around 2009, and the Wimbledon White hard top was repainted with PPG urethane in 2013. A receipt from the 2013 paintwork includes repair of rust at the drip rails and leading edge of the top. New side glass was installed on both sides in 2015. The seller notes blemishes are present in the finish on the hood and are shown in the photo gallery below.

A walk-around video can be seen above. 15” steel wheels with hub caps wear 31″ x 10.5” BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires which the seller says retain about 90% of their tread, with a matching rear-mounted swing-away spare. Power brakes have been added with discs up front, drums out back, and a proportioning valve, and a power steering upgrade includes a 3.1-turn steering box and a new pump.

The seats are trimmed in black vinyl, and were rebuilt in 2010 with new foam, upholstery, and 3-point belts. A new metal dash was installed in 2011 and painted in Wimbledon White, and a new headliner was installed for the hard top in 2013. Rhino Liner has been applied to the sheet metal beneath the black carpets, and the roll bar has been powder coated in black.

A leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel and a Hurst floor shifter have been added, and an Alpine aftermarket stereo is mounted in the dash. Instruments are said to function and include a 100 mph speedometer. The odometer shows just over 8k miles and was rebuilt and reset after the engine overhaul in 2009. A handful of miles have been added by the seller.

The 302ci V8 was rebuilt in 2009 with 4.030 bore flat-top pistons to an increased displacement of 306ci and 9.2:1 compression ratio. According to the seller, components used included a Competition Extreme 4X4 camshaft and lifters, Competition rocker rollers, Magnum push rods, moly piston rings, double-roller timing chain, and a Melling high volume oil pump. Ported and polished 1969 Ford 302 4V cylinder heads were fitted and induction is through a Holly 390 CFM 4-barrel carburetor with electric choke. Other features include:

Differentials from a 1977 Bronco have been added, with a Dana 44 axle up front and a Ford 9” rear axle. The axle bearings were replaced in 2013.
