This Volkswagen Bus got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Volkswagen Bus was acquired by the seller in 2014 and subsequently refurbished with work including refinishing the body in Sea Blue and Cumulus White over a refreshed gray interior. Power comes from a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes 15″ Fuchs-style wheels, front disc brakes, drop spindles, a single exhaust outlet, a sliding passenger-side rear door, vent windows, seating for seven, Dynamat sound deadening, a retro radio with Bluetooth integration, and Pioneer speakers. Service in 2021 consisted of a tune-up and an engine oil change. This Bay-Window Bus is offered with refurbishment records and photos and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Following sheet metal repair to the nose, the body was stripped and refinished in Sea Blue and Cumulus White, according to the seller. Other work consisted of removing indentations and sealing seams, and features include bright-finished trim and side mirrors, vent windows, a sliding passenger-side rear door, white-painted bumpers, and a single exhaust outlet.

The 15″ Fuchs-style wheels feature bright-finished faces and are mounted with 185/65 front and 195/65 rear Kelly Edge A/S tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the ride height has been lowered through the use of drop spindles.

The gray cabin features front buckets and two rows of bench seats that are said to have been retrimmed with cloth inserts and matching door and side panels. Interior amenities include seating for seven, a heater, a black rubber floor covering atop Dynamat insulation, and a retro radio with Bluetooth connectivity that plays through Pioneer speakers. A crack repair has been made to the dash below the radio and is detailed in the photo gallery below.

The black two-spoke steering wheel frames a 90-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer indicates 60k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller.

The carbureted 1.6-liter flat-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The engine is said to have been rebuilt as a part of the refurbishment, and work in 2021 included a tune-up and an oil change.
