This Datsun 240Z got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1972 Datsun 240Z was acquired by the seller in July 1976 and is powered by a numbers-matching 2.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. It is finished in Avocado Green over a black interior and features a Datsun competition rear sway bar, halogen headlights, Appliance 14” slotted wheels, dual SU carburetors, a color-matched front spoiler, and a Delta Mark 10B ignition unit. A repaint was carried out around two decades ago, while more recent work is said to have included replacement of the radiator, fuel pump, starter, and brake master cylinder. This 240Z is now offered with factory literature, spare parts, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Avocado Green and was repainted in 2002, while rust repair was reportedly performed in the early 1980s that included replacing both rear quarter panels and additional bodywork in the wheel wells and the driver’s floor. Exterior features include dual side mirrors, a front bumper bar, a color-matched front spoiler, halogen headlamps, and chrome bumpers with overriders and rubber impact strips. The seller notes the hood shows evidence of prior bodywork, and other noted imperfections include scratches on the passenger door handle, a chip on the top of the right fender, dings on the passenger side of the vehicle, and dents behind the rear bumper.

Appliance 14” slotted alloy wheels are mounted with 195/70 Sumitomo HTR 200 tires. A spare set of wheels and tires with 280Z covers is included in the sale, and a Datsun competition rear sway bar has been installed. The brake master cylinder, rear brake cylinders, and shoes are said to be newer items.

The interior houses high-back bucket seats that are trimmed in black vinyl along with a matching full dash cover, door panels, and carpeting. Aftermarket speakers have been installed, as has a custom anti-theft system that disables the ignition when the key is turned off. The seller notes that the driver’s door panel is refinished, and the passenger door key does not match the ignition key, though a separate key is provided. The clock and power antenna are inoperable, and the radio does not receive AM signal, though a spare radio and clock are included in the sale. Rust is evident under the seats and in the footwells.

A three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, while an analog clock and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, an ammeter, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer has rolled over once and currently shows 170 miles. Approximately 61k miles were added by the seller.
