This Datsun 510 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1972 Datsun 510 wagon was custom built by Formula Drift racing driver Chris Forsberg, for the 2017 SEMA show and is finished in metallic gold over a black interior. It is powered by a modified Nissan SR20DET inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential. Mechanical modifications include a Garrett turbocharger, DeatschWerks fuel system components, a custom aluminum intercooler, an aluminum radiator, and an AEM Infinity 506 ECU. Additional equipment includes custom fender flares, a GT-R-style grille assembly, Techno Toy Tuning suspension components and adjustable coilovers, Wilwood slotted disc brakes, Recaro bolstered front bucket seats, SpeedHut gauges, and a Clarion stereo system with navigation. The seller notes that the car is not currently registered for road use. This modified 510 wagon is now offered on dealer consignment in Connecticut with parts receipts, miscellaneous spare parts, and a clean California title.

Body modifications performed during the 2017 build include custom wheel-arch flares from CarbonSignal, a CarbonSignal hood, a CarbonSignal front fascia and spoiler, European-style taillights, removed front and rear bumpers, and a Hakosuka GT-R-style front grille assembly. Metal repairs included custom-fabricated front floor pans and a custom transmission tunnel to fit the SR20 transmission, and the body was refinished in gold by Sam’s Auto Land of Gardena, California. The selling dealer notes that the car could benefit from some additional fit and finish work, that there is no hood prop present, and the horn, reverse lights, and hazard lights do not work. The windshield wipers and motor are installed, but do not operate, and the brake lights reportedly stay on all the time.

15×8″ SSR MK3 alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/60 Nexen N’Priz AH8 tires. Braking is handled by Wilwood slotted rotors paired with Wilwood four-piston calipers at all four corners, a Wilwood master cylinder, and an adjustable Wilwood proportioning valve. Suspension modifications performed in 2017 consist of parts sourced from Techno Toy Tuning including GTX2 front control arms and billet front hubs, front camber plates, a front strut tower bar, an adjustable rear four-link suspension kit, and adjustable coilovers at all four corners. Play is noted in the left-front wheel bearing and the panhard bar heim joint, and the selling dealer notes that no parking brake assembly is installed.

The interior is trimmed in black and features Recaro bolstered front bucket seats, vinyl door panels, a vinyl rear bench seat, black carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes Dynamat insulation under the carpets, a Vintage Air climate control system that is said to need further fabrication to function, and a Clarion stereo with navigation, a back-up camera, and speakers in the door panels and rear cargo area side panels. A custom-fabricated aluminum battery mount is fitted beneath the dash and holds an Odyssey PC625 powersports battery.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts SpeedHut instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph GPS speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for battery voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The digital odometer shows just under 900 miles, which is believed to be the distance traveled since the completion of the 2017 build. True mileage is unknown, and the selling dealer notes that the tachometer, horn, and turn signal indicators do not work.
