This Volvo 1800ES got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1972 Volvo 1800ES is finished in ivory white over tan Connolly leather upholstery and is powered by a fuel-injected 2.0L inline-four paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ painted steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, chrome bumpers and trim, fog lamps, a rear window defroster, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio. The seller acquired the car in 2014 after a refurbishment was completed in the Netherlands that reportedly included repainting the body, reupholstering the seats, and replacing the brakes and suspension components. The oil was changed and the air conditioning system serviced in preparation for sale. This 1800ES is offered with refurbishment documentation, service manuals, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The shooting-brake body was reportedly stripped to bare metal and repainted in its current shade of ivory as part of a refurbishment completed under prior ownership. Features include a rear window defroster, fog lamps, mud flaps, twin exhaust outlets, and chrome trim on the grille, bumpers, side moldings, window surrounds, and door hardware. The seller states the headlight lenses have been replaced.

Factory 15″ painted steel wheels with chrome trim rings wear Vredestein Sport Classic tires measuring 185/70 with date codes from 2012. Four-wheel disc brakes were equipped from factory. The front suspension and all four shocks were reportedly replaced as part of the refurbishment along with the brake cylinders, pads, lines, and master cylinder.

The cabin features front bucket seats trimmed in tan Connoly leather with matching door panels, a black dashboard, and replacement brown carpets. Amenities include woodgrain trim accents, air conditioning, a heater, rubber floor mats, vinyl fold-down rear seats, and a Blaupunkt push-button AM/FM radio. The seller notes the radio is not connected and there is a tear on the headliner beneath the passenger-side sun visor.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames rebuilt Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The seller notes that the trip odometer and the analog clock do not work. The six-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 900 of which were added by the seller.

The 2.0-liter inline-four is equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 112 horsepower. Work completed as part of the refurbishment reportedly consisted of replacing the air conditioning components, radiator, and wiring harness as well as rebuilding the engine using a replacement camshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, valves, and bearing surfaces. The fuel tank was reportedly cleaned and an anti-corrosion coating applied. The oil was changed and the air conditioning serviced in preparation for sale. The seller notes oil seeping from the underside.
