This 1973 Airstream International Land Yacht Sovereign is a 31’ double-axle travel trailer that has been with the current owner’s family since 1973. The floor plan features a front lounge area with a queen sofa bed, a kitchenette, a bedroom with two twin beds, and a bathroom. Equipment includes an extended rear bumper, steel wheels, equipment lockers, a furnace, and shore connections. Work performed in 2005 is said to have involved replacing the plumbing, air conditioner, awning fabric, carpet, curtains, and countertops. This Airstream Sovereign is now offered by the seller on behalf of his father with manufacturer’s literature, a shore power cord, hookup accessories, and Georgia registration.

Airstream introduced the Sovereign of the Road travel trailer in 1958 as part of the International line. The aluminum-clad exterior of this example features windows with screens, awnings on both sides, an extended rear bumper with an integrated storage compartment, an entry door with a hinged screen panel, a folding boarding step, equipment lockers, and Airstream badging. Additional equipment includes dual tongue-mounted propane tanks as well as connections for fresh water, waste disposal, and electrical service. The generator does not work, dents and blemishes are visible on the body panels, and the camp-side awning reel is broken.

Steel wheels with bright covers are mounted with a mixed set of tires that were installed more than five years ago per the seller. The double-axle chassis is equipped with a tongue jack, a seven-pin trailering harness, and safety chains. Stopping power is provided by electric drum brakes.

The interior is outfitted with white walls, curtains, woodgrain flooring, and overhead lighting. The forward lounge area houses a sofa that converts to a bed, wraparound windows with curtains, skylight windows with retractable covers, side cabinets, a folding table, and under-sofa storage drawers. A compartment over the sofa houses a Motorola push-button AM/FM radio and eight-track tape player, and a control panel for monitoring the battery and holding tanks is mounted above.

The kitchenette is equipped with laminate countertops and woodgrain cabinets as well as a stainless-steel sink, a four-burner propane cooktop, a Litton Minute Master microwave oven, a Magic Chef oven, a residential-style power outlet, and an exhaust hood. The built-in refrigerator does not work, and the tabletop refrigerator pictured in the gallery is included in the sale. The central bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and has reading lights, overhead cabinets, side windows, and a privacy curtain.

The bathroom is located aft and is equipped with a combination tub and shower with a hinged privacy panel and a tethered sprayer, a toilet, a sink, and a toiletries cabinet. House equipment includes an eight-gallon water heater, a furnace, a ceiling vent, and a Dometic air conditioner.

The trailer comes with a Georgia registration document and does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not require titles for trailers of its age.
