1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

This 1973 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is reportedly one of approximately 560 Indy 500 Pace Car examples produced for the model year and was acquired by the seller in 2014, and it now shows 44k miles. The car is powered by a 500ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Cotillion White over Scarlet Sierra grain leather. Equipment includes a white convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, and a retro-look digital stereo along with cruise control and power windows. This Eldorado Convertible is now offered with the owner’s manual, a parade boot cover, a service manual, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Cotillion White (11) with a power-operated white convertible soft top, the seller notes the car was repainted previously and the top motor was replaced in 2017. Additional exterior details include fender-mounted light monitors, cornering lights, Twilight Sentinel headlights, and chrome bumpers. The Indy 500 Pace Car decals have been removed and the power antenna does not work. The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with a mixed set of Cooper Trendsetter and Milestar Touring tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The Eldorado featured a torsion bar front suspension and a coil-sprung solid rear axle along with Automatic Level Control and power steering.

The bench seats are trimmed in Scarlet Sierra grain leather and are complemented by color-coordinated carpets and door panels. Amenities include woodgrain trim, cruise control, and power windows. A retro-look digital stereo is installed and accompanied by an amplifier mounted under the carpet in the passenger floorboard, and the stereo and driver’s seat power operation work intermittently. The dashboard is cracked, and close-up photos of the interior are presented in the gallery.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership. The instrument cluster lights are nonfunctional and the steering wheel is cracked.

The 500ci V8 features a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor for a factory output of 235 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The air conditioning belt is missing.

Power is routed to the front wheels via a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission was reportedly overhauled in 2016, and the exhaust system and driveshafts were replaced under prior ownership.

The owner’s manual, a service manual, a boot cover, and a removed radio are included in the sale.
