This 1973 Plymouth Duster is powered by a 440ci V8 paired with a Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in copper over tan vinyl upholstery. The car is said to have remained with the previous owner’s family for around three decades before being acquired by current owner in October 2021. Equipment includes a Weiland Team G intake manifold, an aluminum radiator, a dual exhaust system, black-finished 15″ Cragar wheels, and a hood with a scoop and hold-down pins. This Duster is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner at no reserve with a broadcast sheet and a Pennsylvania title.
Finished from the factory in Golden Haze (JY6), the car has been repainted in copper with a black hood, grille, fuel filler cap, tail light bezels, and bumpers. Black 440 graphics have been added to the sides of the vehicle, and the hood features a scoop and hold-down pins. Photos in the gallery below show paint chips along with bubbles on the front bumper and right rear wheel arch.
Black-finished 15″ Cragar wheels are wrapped in 205/65 General Altimax HP tires. Braking is handled by four wheel drums with an unassisted dual-circuit master cylinder.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in tan vinyl. Amenities include a heater, an AM radio, and three-point front seat belts. Components for air conditioning are present but the system is incomplete. Tears are visible on the headliner along with cracks and warping on the dashboard and broken driver’s door trim.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a faux wood-trimmed instrument panel housing a 120-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges displaying alternator charge, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 1,300 of which were added during current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
A 440ci V8 has been installed in lieu of the factory 225ci inline-six. Work performed in the summer of 2022 included an oil change and carburetor adjustment. The engine is equipped with the following components:
- Weiland Team G intake manifold
- Aluminum radiator
- Tubular exhaust manifolds
- Dual exhaust system
- Moroso polished valve covers
- Edelbrock air cleaner
- Accel ignition cables
- Spectre under-hood fuel pressure gauge
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.
