This MG MGB got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1974 MGB GT was reportedly sold new in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was acquired by the seller from the original owner as a non-running project in January 2020. The car was taken off the road in 1998 for an unleaded fuel conversion, and the cylinder head was removed when work ceased and the car went into storage, where it remained until the seller’s purchase. The car is finished in white over a tan interior, and its partially disassembled 1.8L inline-four is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. This MGB GT is now offered with records, factory literature, removed parts, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.

The 1974 model year included both rubber- and chrome-bumper cars, with this being an example of the latter. The body is finished in white, and other features include bumper overriders, bodyside moldings, and dual side mirrors. Work performed during previous ownership included rust repair in the doors followed by a repaint of the right door, the inside bottoms of both doors, and the spare tire well. The seller notes the presence of blemishes and a dent in the left quarter panel, which can be seen up close in the gallery below and in a video that can be viewed here.

Factory 14″ Rostyle wheels are color-keyed to the body and are wrapped in older Michelin XAS tires.

The seats are upholstered in tan corduroy with darker vinyl trim and carpets. Equipment includes a rear window defroster and an MG-branded radio blanking plate.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a black padded dashboard that houses Smiths instruments including a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and engine temperature. The five-digit odometer shows a little over 26k miles.

The 1.8-liter inline-four was partially disassembled in preparation for conversion to unleaded fuel. The seller notes that the block has remained uncovered and exposed to debris and humidity since the removal of the cylinder head in 1998. Removed parts are included in the sale as shown in the gallery. The valve cover is missing and is not included.
