This 1974 Volvo 144 is a four-door sedan that is said to have remained with its original owner in Santa Barbara, California until 2020, and it was recently acquired by the selling dealer from its second owner. Finished in white over a blue cloth interior, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Recent maintenance included brake, fuel, and electrical system work as well as replacement of the battery. This 144 is now offered with yellow-on-blue California plates and a clean California title.
The car was finished in Cascade White (42) from the factory and features mud flaps, anodized aluminum window trim, and larger bumpers when compared with earlier models. The car wears yellow-on-blue California plates, and noted flaws include paint chips, dings, and dents.
Painted 15″ steel wheels with polished Volvo-branded covers wear Cooper Sportmaster GLT tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, the latter of which were reportedly serviced in 2020.
The interior features seats upholstered in blue cloth with multi-colored stripes, which are paired with blue carpets and matching vinyl door panels. Equipment includes hand-crank windows, a cabin heater, and a rear window defroster. The bottom seat cover of the driver’s seat is torn.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation that includes a 130-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer indicates 53k miles.
The 2.0-liter B20F inline-four features K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance since 2020 is said to have included a fuel system cleaning, electrical repairs, and replacement of the fuel injectors and battery.
