This Datsun 280Z got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1975 Datsun 280Z coupe is finished in metallic green over black upholstery and is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes, 14″ painted steel wheels with covers, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The car was acquired by the seller four years ago, and the fuel tank was recently reconditioned. This S30 is now offered at no reserve with service records and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The body was finished in Emerald Green Metallic (303) from the factory, and the seller states that it was refinished under previous ownership. Exterior elements include tinted glass, a left-side mirror, and chrome bumpers with black bumperettes.
Painted 14″ steel wheels wear full covers and 195/70 Hankook Kinergy ST tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted front disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, and a fully independent suspension.
Black vinyl upholstery covers the high-back bucket seats, and 280Z-branded mats line the floors. Additional equipment includes a rear window defroster, rear cargo straps, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The air conditioning system does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level are mounted atop the center stack beside an analog clock that is not working. The five-digit odometer shows 90k miles, of which approximately 2,500 were added by the seller.
The 2.8-liter L28 inline-six features Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 149 horsepower when new. An OPL aluminum radiator is installed, and the seller states that the rear main seal was recently replaced along with the alternator and ignition components.
Power is supplied to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that is said to have been fitted with a replacement clutch kit and output shaft seal prior to the seller’s acquisition. A reconditioned fuel tank and a replacement fuel-level sending unit were recently installed.
