468-Powered 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 4-Speed

This 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was first delivered to Bernard Auto of Upton, Quebec, Canada and was acquired by the seller in June 2015. A subsequent refurbishment included the installation of a 468ci V8, a refinish in white, and a reupholstering of the interior. Additional features include a four-speed manual transmission, 15” Rally II-style wheels, front disc brakes, a shaker hood scoop, power windows, Rally gauges, a rear-seat console, and a factory Delco stereo. This Trans Am is now offered in Canada with Vintage Vehicle Services documentation, the removed engine, and transferable Ontario registration.

The car left the factory finished in Cameo White (11) and was repainted during a refurbishment that is said to have concluded in 2019. Features include body-color bumpers, a rear spoiler, fender vents, sport mirrors, mud flaps, a Trans Am hood decal, and a shaker hood scoop.

The 15″ Rally II-style wheels are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-letter tires that show 2017 date codes. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Hotchkis coil springs were added during the refurbishment.

The 2+2 interior features front and rear bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a factory Delco stereo, power windows, engine-turned dash trim, a heated rear window, a console, red rubber floor mats, and a console and ashtrays for rear occupants. The front seats were reupholstered and the carpets and headliner were replaced during the refurbishment.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel features a Firebird center cap and fronts a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 93k and the seller states that it reads in kilometers (~58k miles), and approximately 1,300 kilometers have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The seller states that the 400ci V8 was removed and replaced with a stroked 468ci V8 in 2019. Components include an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, dual Holley carburetors, and Hedman Husler exhaust headers. The removed 400ci V8 is shown in the gallery and included in the sale.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a replacement clutch. Additional photos are presented in the gallery below.
