1978 Alfa Romeo Spider

This 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider was purchased 2.5 years ago by the seller, and has subsequently been refreshed and modified. Power comes from a twin-cam 2.0-liter inline-four paired to a 5-speed transmission. A pre-1974 steel bumper conversion, Bosch electronic ignition, Alfaholics electric fan kit, upgraded sound system, Alfaholics 14″ wheels, Centerline/Koni suspension setup, and much more have been installed. This particular Spider was recently featured in a Petrolicious video, and is now being offered in Culver City, California with records covering the past two years, the original wheels, some spare parts, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

Classic car collector and restorer Manuel Minassian bought it in 2014 after the previous owner partially disassembled and repainted the car Verde Inglese from its original blue color. Outside, this Spider features a European pre-1974 steel bumper conversion and a replacement black vinyl top. New side-view mirrors, taillights, and Alfa Romeo/Pininfarina emblems were fitted in 2017. Per the seller, some cracking is present on the mirrors, and the chrome surrounding the taillights shows wear.

The suspension system was also revamped in 2017. It utilizes Centerline shocks, Koni Sport springs, and new A-arm bushings. 14″ Alfaholics lightweight phone-dial wheels are now equipped, and a new set of 195/60 series Falken Azenis AT615+ tires were mounted approximately 500 miles ago. The original 14″ wheels are included, and are mounted on 185/70 series Pirelli P400s.

The factory audio system has been replaced with a trunk-mounted JL Audio MX280/4 amplifier, two C3-575 speakers mounted in the rear cargo area, and a wireless Bluetooth receiver. Current imperfections include an inoperable windshield sprayer and a leaky heater core, so the coolant plumbing now bypasses the core. The odometer shows 50k miles, however total mileage cannot be verified with records. Approximately 10k miles have been added by the seller over the past 2.5 years.

Beneath the front-hinged hood is a twin-cam 2.0-liter inline-four sending power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed gearbox.
