This 1978 Chevrolet K20 Cheyenne is finished in orange and gray over gray leather upholstery and is powered by a replacement 350ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes 16″ steel wheels, a spray-in bedliner, a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, and air conditioning. The truck was acquired out of California in March 2022 by the seller, who replaced brake and suspension components, the left-rear axle seal, the water pump, and several exterior elements in addition to installing a retro-look stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. This square-body K20 is now offered with a clean Utah title in the seller’s name.
The truck was repainted in orange and gray under previous ownership. The grille, headlight bezels, indicator lenses, bumpers, mirrors, and corner cab moldings were replaced in 2022, and a spray-in bedliner is noted out back. Stone chips, areas of peeling trim paint, and other blemishes are shown in close-up photos provided below.
The 16″ painted steel wheels wear bright trim rings, hub caps with painted accents, and 265/75 Toyo Open Country A/T III tires mounted in April 2022. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. Invoices shown in the gallery list brake and suspension components replaced under current ownership including the brake booster, master cylinder, tie rods, and ball joints.
The cab houses a split-folding bench seat from a newer truck that is upholstered in gray leather. Appointments include air conditioning, all-weather floor mats, a retro-style head unit with Bluetooth connectivity, and Pioneer speakers.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a column-mounted tachometer, a 100-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The seller notes that the fuel and oil-pressure gauges are inaccurate, and the horn works intermittently. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 36k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 sends power to the rear or all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, which is leaking from its front seal according to the seller. The radiator was flushed in March 2022, and the seller’s work log shown below notes replacement of the water pump and thermostat.
The truck is equipped with dual fuel tanks, and the seller states the right fuel tank needs to be cleaned. A dual exhaust system is installed without catalytic converters. The left-rear axle seal was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The truck has a California Replacement Identification Number tag in addition to a VIN plate pictured at the end of the gallery below.
