This 1978 Dodge Diplomat station wagon is finished in green with woodgrain paneling over green upholstery, and it is powered by a 360ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome trim, roof rails, a power-adjustable driver seat, air conditioning, and rear stowage compartments. The seller’s family reportedly acquired the car in 2002, the seller’s parents took ownership in June 2014, and service in February 2021 consisted of an oil change and replacement of the battery. This Diplomat wagon is offered by the seller on behalf of his parents with California emissions records dating back to 2006 and a clean California title in the parents’ names.

The split front bench seat offers a fold-down armrest and power adjustability for the driver side. Other amenities include air conditioning, woodgrain trim, cruise control, an AM/FM radio, a digital clock, and a heated rear window. The front power windows require manual assistance to completely close, wear is shown on the driver seat, the seller notes intermittent issues with the stereo knobs, and the rear hatch shocks have failed.

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, an alternator gauge, and a coolant-temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 13k of which are said to have been added since the seller’s family acquired the car nineteen years ago.

The 360ci V8 was factory rated at 155 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque when new. In 2016, the factory Lean Burn ignition system was replaced with a Holley two-barrel carburetor and a Proform electronic distributor. The seller notes an oil leak, and service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and replacement of the battery in February 2021. The car is said to have passed California emissions testing in April 2021.
