1978 Ferrari 308 GTS

This 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS is finished in Marrone over Pelle Testa leather and was reportedly delivered new to California before being acquired by the seller in Oregon in 2004. Its carbureted 2.9L V8 is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. A belt service was performed in August 2019, and the odometer indicates 86k miles, approximately 12k of which have been added by the seller. This 308 GTS is now offered with service records since 1998, a Heritage Certificate from Ferrari, a jack, an incomplete tool roll, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in its original shade of Marrone (106-M-73) and is reported to show areas of prior refinishing and repairs. Paint bubbling is present on the lower wheel arches, rust is reported on the underbody pinch welds, while dents, dings, and touch-ups are also noted and can be viewed in the photo gallery below.

14″ Cromodora-style wheels show blemishes and wear a set of Pirelli P4000 tires size 205/70. The brake calipers are painted red with yellow Ferrari logos.

The seats are said to have been reupholstered in the original Pelle Testa (VM 890) leather along with installation of new carpeting. The car is equipped with Borletti air conditioning, electric windows, and a Kenwood AM/FM cassette radio.

Veglia instrumentation includes a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer indicating a 7,700-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows just under 86k miles, about 12k of which reportedly have been added by the seller over 15 years.

The mid-mounted 90-degree 2,927cc V8 is equipped with a Weber DCNF induction system and produced 240 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. A belt service was performed in August 2019 and is outlined by an invoice which is pictured in the gallery.

A Ferrari Heritage Certificate states that the car was manufactured on May 15, 1978 and retains its original Marrone over Pelle Testa color scheme. Documentation also reportedly includes records from 1998 through 2019.
