1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT

This 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT was delivered new to Chuck Colvin Ford of McMinnville, Oregon, and is finished in metallic green over brown and tan vinyl upholstery. Power is provided by a 351ci V8 mated with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a white fiberglass hardtop, tri-color graphics, front bumper guards, LED auxiliary lamps, power-assisted steering, 15″ chrome wheels, 33″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, air conditioning, a Sony AM/FM/cassette stereo, and an Alpine subwoofer. The truck was acquired by the seller in 2022, and subsequent work consisted of installing a Hydroboost power brake system and replacing brake components. This second-generation Bronco is now offered with a Deluxe Marti report, manufacturer’s literature, an Ownercard, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body left the factory finished in Dark Jade Metallic (B) and is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Features include a white fiberglass hardtop, tri-color graphics, front bumper guards, LED auxiliary lamps, bright metal wheel opening moldings, a swing-out spare tire mount, and a rear trailer hitch receiver.

The 15″ chrome wheels are mounted with 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain K02 tires. The truck is equipped with power steering and manually locking front hubs, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. Work under current ownership is said to have consisted of installing a Hydroboost power brake system and replacing brake components.

The interior houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in brown and tan vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, wood grain trim, an Igloo center console cooler, a fire extinguisher, a Sony AM/FM/cassette stereo, aftermarket speakers, and an Alpine subwoofer. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant under previous ownership.

The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and frames an 85-mph speedometer along with gauges for water temperature and fuel level. An AutoMeter tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 86k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 351ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership with a 400M crankshaft and features a serpentine drive system, an MSD electronic ignition, and a four-barrel carburetor. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a three-speed C6 automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case.

The Deluxe Marti report lists factory equipment, colors, and production statistics along with a build date of January 30th, 1978.

A reproduction data tag has been installed and lists warranty number U15HLBE8118, which matches the VIN shown on the California title.

The truck last passed a California emissions test in June 2022.
