This Ford Mustang II got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1978 Ford Mustang II is a final-year coupe that was reportedly sold new in California, passed from its original owner to her niece in the early 1990s, and acquired by the seller in 2018 after 12 years of storage. The car is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission which is said to have been replaced under original ownership along with the steering rack, radiator, and air conditioning pump. A new Holley carburetor, fuel system components, hoses, battery, water pump, brakes, carpet kit, door seals, tires, and more have been added by the seller. This Mustang II is offered at no reserve with factory literature, records from new, and a clean Idaho title.

The car is finished in Light Chamois with color-matching bumpers, and the condition of the paintwork is shown up close in the gallery below. The seller reports evidence that the driver-side fender has been repainted.

Powder coated 13″ wheels wear trim rings, hubcaps, and fresh 175/80 Milestar whitewall tires all around. A brake master cylinder and power booster were fitted during the seller’s ownership, and the original owner is reported to have had the steering rack replaced.

The interior is trimmed in Chamois vinyl with cloth inserts, factory glass is reported to be intact, and the seller has installed a new carpet kit, door guard inserts, and upper door seals. The 5-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over once and shows just over 5k miles, approximately 300 of which have been added under current ownership. The air conditioning system will reportedly be recharged for the new owner.

The 2.8-liter V6 sends power to the rear wheels through a C3 3-speed automatic transmission, the latter of which was reportedly changed under original ownership along with radiator and air conditioning pump. A new Holley carburetor, water pump, and battery were fitted by the seller along with a replacement fuel tank, pump, hoses, and sending unit.
