This 1979 International Harvester Scout II 4×4 was refurbished under prior ownership by The Scoutman in Winston, Georgia, and was acquired by the seller in May 2020. The truck is finished in white with black Rallye graphics over a black vinyl and cloth interior. Power is provided by a 304ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 17″ Mickey Thompson alloy wheels, aftermarket steel bumpers, a dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers, Hamilton electronic fuel injection, air conditioning, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood CD stereo, Kicker speakers, and Corbeau front bucket seats with a matching rear bench. This Scout II is now offered with a line setting ticket, refurbishment records, and a Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The seller states that the body was refinished in its current shade of white with black Rallye graphics during the aforementioned refurbishment. Features include a black Traveltop removable hardtop, a front bumper with a bull bar, a rear bumper with an integrated receiver hitch, LED headlights, a lockable gas cap, and a wiper arm conversion kit. The seller states that the side marker assemblies have been replaced, and corrosion is noted at the bottom of the door panels.

Additional equipment include a powder-coated roll bar, three-point seatbelts, air conditioning, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood CD, and Kicker speakers. The rear view mirror, window latches, light switches, and door locks and cylinders were replaced during the refurbishment, according to the seller.

A Grant GT steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 100-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. Work performed under previous ownership included replacement of the horn as well as the turn signal return switch and cancel cam.

The truck features Hamilton electronic fuel injection, a GM alternator, an aluminum radiator, transmission cooler lines, and a Lokar throttle cable and kickdown cable. Additional parts and components replaced as part of the refurbishment included:

  • Starter
  • Battery
  • Thermostat
  • Power steering and alternator belts
  • Radiator hoses
  • Engine breather tube
  • Transmission gasket
  • Shift cable
  • Shift boot

An oil leak is noted at the transfer case.

A protective coating was reportedly applied to the underside of the truck, and additional work performed prior to the seller’s acquisition included installation of a replacement 19-gallon fuel tank and a dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers.
