This Mazda RX-7 FB got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1979 Mazda RX-7 was purchased new by the seller’s parents and is finished in Sonic Bronze over a black vinyl interior. Power is provided by a 1.1-liter twin-rotor engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and features include a removable sunroof panel, pop-up headlamps, and rear window louvers. Service since August 2019 reportedly includes flushing the fluids and replacing the oil-pan gasket, tailshaft seal, and rear shocks. This RX-7 shows 82k miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with factory books, a service manual, a window sticker, and a clean Minnesota title.
The exterior was reportedly refinished in the original Sonic Bronze in 2006. Features include a removable sunroof panel, rear window louvers, and pop-up headlamps. The seller notes that the rear hatch struts are worn. Close-up photos of the body panels and trim can be viewed in the gallery.
Factory 13” aluminum Togo Kogyo waffle wheels are mounted with 205/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. Service in August 2019 included flushing the brake fluid and replacing the rear shocks.
The interior is upholstered in black and features vinyl-trimmed bucket seats with perforated inserts. Amenities include intermittent wipers, a rear defroster, an AM/FM radio, and an Alpine CD player.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles.
The 1.1-liter 12A twin-rotor engine was factory rated for 100 horsepower, and the oil-pan gasket was reportedly replaced within the last year.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Service in August 2019 reportedly included flushing the clutch, transmission, and differential fluids, as well as replacing the tailshaft seal. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
