This Datsun Pickup got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1980 Datsun 720 pickup is a long-bed example finished in Rallye Red over gray and black vinyl upholstery, and it is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, chrome-finished bumpers, bed-mounted tie-down cleats, rear mud flaps, and a Panasonic AM/FM radio. The seller acquired the truck in July 2021, and subsequent work reportedly included rebuilding the carburetor, flushing the coolant, installing NGK spark plugs, and replacing the valve cover gasket, thermostat, fan clutch, drive belt, and battery. This 720 pickup shows 25k miles and is now offered with assorted literature and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in Rallye Red (809) and features a long cargo bed, a rear tow ball, chrome-finished bumpers, quad headlights, bed-mounted tie-down cleats, and rear mud flaps. Damage and rust on the front valance can be viewed in the gallery below.
White-finished 14″ steel wheels are mounted with 7.00-width Bridgestone tires. The seller notes the tires should be replaced due to age.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in gray and black vinyl that extends to the door panels. Appointments include a rubber floor liner, a glovebox, and a Panasonic AM/FM radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the seller.
The 2.0-liter L20B inline-four was factory rated at 95 horsepower. The seller states work performed under current ownership included rebuilding the carburetor, installing NGK spark plugs, flushing the coolant, and replacing the valve cover gasket, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, drive belt, and battery. An oil change was performed in 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
