1981 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

This 1981 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is a metallic blue convertible that is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Weber carburetors were installed by the original owner according to the seller, who reports that services following their acquisition in 2013 included replacing the clutch components, head gasket, and brake lines. The car is also equipped with a tan convertible top, 14″ Campagnolo alloy wheels, tan leather upholstery, and a Kenwood stereo. This Spider now shows 58k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in metallic blue accented by bright trim and a tan convertible top. The spare tire well was sanded and refinished in 2016. Oxidation is visible on the rear bumper, blemishes are present on the body, and a tear is visible on the soft top rear window.

Campagnolo 14″ alloy wheels are mounted with Goodyear Viva 2 tires, and a full-size spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the seller states the brake lines were replaced in March 2023.

The tan leather upholstery on the bucket seats is torn and cracked, and the seller notes that the power window switches function intermittently. A Kenwood stereo has been installed in the center console, and the car has a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a wooden shift knob.

Jaeger instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature housed in the center stack. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 58k miles, 20k of which were added under current ownership. The tachometer was repaired in 2020.

The twin-cam 2.0L inline-four was fitted with dual Weber carburetors during prior ownership. The seller states the head gasket was replaced in 2015, while services in 2020 consisted of installing a battery cut-off switch and replacing the battery as well as the spark plugs. An oil change was performed in 2021.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The seller notes the engine and transmission were pulled in 2015 to replace a slipped collar in the transmission, at which time the clutch components were replaced. The center muffler was replaced in 2020 and the transmission fluid was flushed in 2021. Corrosion is visible on some underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.

Alfa Romeo books and magazines, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and spare parts are also included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Ohio and Georgia from its first entry in 2009.
