This Ford Bronco 3rd Generation 1980-1986 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1981 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller in 2001 and subsequently underwent an overhaul of the frame, body, cabin, engine, and drivetrain. Finished in gray with black accents over black vinyl and tartan cloth, the truck is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional modifications include a four-inch suspension lift, 15″ Moto Metal wheels with 33″ tires, locking front hubs, a limited-slip rear differential, modified engine components, an exhaust system with long-tube headers, and an Alpine stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and a subwoofer. This Bronco is now offered with a build sheet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oklahoma title.

Gifted as a first car to the seller by his father, this Bronco was reportedly stripped down to the frame, which was sandblasted and epoxy-painted before the body was refinished in Audi Nardo Gray (LY7C) in preparation for the sale. Exterior features include a body-color removable hardtop, a trailer hitch, tinted taillights, de-chromed and powder-coated bumpers and trim, and a black grille, headlight bezels, side mirrors, tailgate accents, and badging. The seller reports that all the exterior glass and weatherstripping were replaced as part of the refurbishment.

Gloss-black 15″ Moto Metal wheels are affixed to Mile Marker locking front hubs and are mounted with 33×12.50″ Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires. The truck rides on a powder-coated suspension system with Bilstein dampers, Energy Suspension body mount bushings, and a four-inch lift. The brake master cylinder, brake booster, and rubber lines are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale, while the calipers were rebuilt and the metal brake lines, front calipers, and rear drums were powder-coated. The steering system is also said to have recently been refreshed with a steering box by Redhead, tie rods, and rubber lines along with a rebuilt power steering pump and powder-coated metal lines.

A split-spoke Forever Sharp steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles and is said to have rolled over once. True mileage is unknown. A new gear indicator cable is said to have been installed, and the gauge needles were reportedly repainted under current ownership.

The factory 351ci engine was reportedly modified under current ownership to displace 400ci with a replacement crankshaft and Tim Meyer pistons. The valvetrain is also said to have been overhauled with a mild hydraulic roller camshaft, Ford Performance roller lifters, and roller rockers by Crane Cams. A dual-exhaust system with ceramic-coated long-tube headers has been rust-protected from the manifold back, and the engine is fed by a powder-coated fuel tank, new fuel lines, and an Edelbrock carburetor and intake.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through an overhauled three-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case as well as rebuilt front and Eaton limited-slip rear differentials equipped with a 3.50:1 final drive. The undercarriage and wheel wells have been sprayed with bedliner, and additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
