This 1981 Vespa P200E was purchased new by the seller at Egeberg Cycle Co. in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1983. Finished in white, the scooter is powered by a 198cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes oil injection, electronic ignition, an onboard spare tire, a trailing-link front end, street lighting, and a locking storage compartment as well as a chrome trim package that was added under current ownership. This P200E is now offered at no reserve with a service manual, an owner’s manual, a parts catalog, magazines, a tool roll, spare parts, an air pump, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
The bodywork is finished in white, and equipment includes a black vinyl-covered two-up seat with a grab strap as well as a locking storage compartment, a center stand, street lighting, and a single mirror on the left. A chrome trim package including a rear rack, cowl protectors, and a front bumper was added by the seller.
Two-piece 10″ wheels and an onboard spare are mounted with 3.50″ Pirelli tires. Suspension consists of a single-sided trailing-link front end as well as a single shock at the rear. Braking is from drums at both ends.
The Veglia Borletti 80-mph speedometer is housed in a color-matched handlebar cover and features an inset neutral gear position indicator. High beam and turn signal indicators are mounted atop the cover. The five-digit odometer shows 3,400 miles.
The air-cooled 198cc two-stroke single was rated at 12 horsepower when new, and features include an electronic ignition system, a Dell’Orto carburetor, and oil injection. Power is transferred to the rear wheel through a four-speed manual transmission that is shifted via the left-hand twist-grip.
An April 1983 sales invoice is included in the sale along with a service manual, a parts catalog, an owner’s manual, a tool roll, spare parts, magazines, and an air pump.
The current Minnesota title lists the VIN as 80724, which matches the final five digits of the number stamped on the frame that is shown above. Photos of the manufacturer’s information label, which is affixed to the steering stem and contains a 17-character VIN, can be viewed in the gallery below.
