This Ford Fox-Body Mustang got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1982 Ford Mustang GL 5.0 hatchback is finished in Medium Red over a matching vinyl and cloth interior, and it is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes TRX metric alloy wheels, a hood scoop, a sunroof, power steering, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Kenwood CD stereo. The car was registered in Indiana before it was acquired by the seller and moved to Ohio in June 2021. This Fox-body hatchback is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a sunroof storage bag, a carburetor tune-up kit, spare valve cover gaskets, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Medium Red (24) and features a hood scoop, a sunroof, black side moldings, chrome window trim, and mud flaps.
The 390mm TRX metric wheels are wrapped in 190/65 Michelin TRX tires that are believed to have been mounted for decades. The tires show dry rot and cracking, and the seller notes the tires should be replaced before extensive driving. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The seats are upholstered in burgundy vinyl with patterned cloth inserts and are accompanied by a matching dash pad, carpets, and door panels. Equipment includes woodgrain dashboard trim, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Kenwood CD stereo. The three-spoke steering wheels frames an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the seller.
The 5.0-liter V8 features a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 157 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque for the 1982 model year. The seller notes that the engine has an oil leak and that the carburetor needs to be adjusted. The water pump and serpentine belt were reportedly replaced under previous ownership. Replacement valve cover gaskets will accompany the car along with spare carburetor seals and rebuild kits.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible on underside components, and additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Indiana and Ohio since 2007.
