This Chevrolet Monte Carlo got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is equipped with the Z65 Super Sport Package and was delivered new to Albrecht-Harlin Chevrolet in Wood River, Illinois. The car is finished in white over blue cloth upholstery and powered by a 305ci L69 V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes halogen headlights, tinted windows, a rear window defogger, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, intermittent wipers, and power accessories. Acquired by the selling dealer in August 2022, this Monte Carlo SS shows 22k miles and is now offered at no reserve in South Carolina with manufacturer’s literature, a build sheet, two sets of keys, photos from previous ownership, a clean Carfax Report, and a clean North Carolina title.
The SS version of the Monte Carlo was reintroduced for 1983, and approximately 4,714 examples were produced for the model year. The body is finished in White (11) and features SS-specific black moldings as well as tinted glass, a black grille, SS decals, dual exhaust outlets, a front air dam, and a rear spoiler.
Five-spoke 15″ Rally wheels are wrapped in 215/65 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes as well as the F41 sport suspension system.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Royal Blue (22G) cloth along with white vinyl on the seats and door panels. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power accessories, Monte Carlo SS floor mats, remote trunk opening, intermittent windshield wipers, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. A crease and staining is noted on the driver-side door panel along with staining on the driver’s seat.
The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column and fronts an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 22k miles.
The 305ci L69 V8 is equipped with a Rochester Quadra-Jet four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 175 horsepower and 240 ft-lb of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underbody are provided in the gallery below.
Manufacturer’s literature, a build sheet, two sets of keys, and photos from previous ownership are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Illinois, Florida, and North Carolina. There is a gap in the entries on the Carfax report from July 1983 to June 2010.
