1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo 5-Speed

This 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo is powered by a turbocharged 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in black over tan upholstery. Equipment includes a vented hood, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, 15″ alloy wheels, tinted windows, removable T-top roof panels, and power windows and locks. The car spent time in Idaho before the selling dealer’s 2023 acquisition, and subsequent work is said to have included mounting tires as well as performing an oil change and a coolant flush. This 280ZX Turbo shows 72k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer in Kansas with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, spare parts, a license plate bracket, a clean Carfax report and a clean Idaho title.

The car is finished in black and features contrasting gold pinstripes and removable T-top roof panels. Additional exterior details include a vented hood with a NACA duct along with gold-finished badging, a rear window wiper, tinted windows, and twin polished exhaust outlets. Paint chips and dings are present along the body, the front spoiler has a crack, and the rear bumper is scuffed.

The four-spoke 15″ alloy wheels with gold-finished accents wear BFGoodrich Advantage tires that show 2022 date codes. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs.

The bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather and patterned cloth and are accompanied by a brown dashboard and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, a factory cassette stereo, carpeted floor mats, and power windows and locks. The cruise control is inoperative.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a digital speedometer, a bar-style tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the selling dealer.

The turbocharged and fuel injected 2.8L L28ET inline-six was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. An oil change and coolant flush were reportedly performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Idaho from the first entry in January 1989. The car failed its most recent Idaho emissions inspection in November 2021.
