This Ford F-Series 1980-1986 got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1983 Ford F-150 XL is a regular-cab, short-bed pickup which is powered by a 302ci V8 driving the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The truck was originally delivered to Johnston Motor Company in Florence, Oregon, and was recently acquired by the seller. Finished in Dark Red Metallic, it was modified under previous ownership with white hood and side stripes, a hood ornament, and a Buccaneer camper shell. Service under current ownership included installation of a new power steering pump and carburetor as well as later alloy wheels. This F-150 is offered at no reserve in Oregon with an accident-free Carfax report, a Deluxe Marti report, factory literature, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The original owner is reported to have added the white accents running from the hood and cowl over the fenders and doors, while the seller added a silver outline to the stripe. Paint checking is reported on the roof and below the grille. A Buccaneer camper shell built in the same city where the truck was sold new is included in the sale and shown in the gallery below. A walk-around video has been provided by the seller.
Additional running lights have been added below the stock reflectors in the front fenders, and a hood ornament has been attached. The seller replaced the factory wheels with 15″ alloys from a later F-150 mounted with 30″ Thunderer Ranger A/T tires. An older Firestone whitewall on a black steel wheel is provided as a spare. The cab is finished in red with a cloth and vinyl-upholstered bench seat and matching rubber flooring and door panels. Equipment includes a factory AM/FM stereo, cruise control, sun visors, an overhead lamp, and custom storage bins behind the backrest. A period Midland CB is attached to the bottom of the dash below the stock radio, and red lights are mounted below the dash. The headliner shows some sagging.
The red dash and stock steering wheel feature wood-style trim. Factory instrumentation includes a five-digit odometer that shows approximately 23k miles. The seller notes that the truck is equipped with dual fuel tanks, but only one registers on the fuel gauge. The air conditioning system uses R12 refrigerant but does not blow cold. A new fresh air duct hose was fitted by the seller.
The 302ci Windsor V8 is equipped with Duraspark electronic ignition and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The carburetor and power steering pump have reportedly been replaced and the oil has been changed during the seller’s ownership. A cold-start video is viewable here.

The truck comes with the Deluxe Marti report shown above as well as factory literature, two license plate frames and a baseball cap from the original dealer, a keychain, and a May 2019 Carfax report showing no accidents or other damage. A driving video can be seen below.
