15k-Mile 1983 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible 5-Speed

This 1983 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 convertible is finished in gray over matching cloth and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The car is believed to have remained with its original owner until 2018 and was acquired by the seller in June 2020. Equipment includes a retractable black soft top, TRX alloy wheels, electric front windows, power steering, air conditioning, and a premium sound system. Modifications consist of Koni shocks, a Holley carburetor, and a Flowmaster exhaust system. This Fox-body convertible shows just under 15k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Medium Charcoal Metallic (1B) and features a matte black stripe on the hood, black beltline and window trim, and a black vinyl convertible top that can be seen both raised and lowered.

The 16″ TRX wheels are wrapped in Michelin tires. Aftermarket Koni shocks have been equipped during previous ownership.

The cabin is upholstered in gray cloth with vinyl seat backs, matching carpets, and a black dash and upper door panels. Amenities include electric front windows, power locks, power steering, air conditioning, a leather shift boot, a factory cassette stereo, and a digital clock in the center stack.

The instrument cluster is trimmed in brushed aluminum and houses an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows just under 15k miles.

The 5.0-liter V8 was rated at 175 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque when new. A Holley carburetor and a Flowmaster exhaust system were installed by a previous owner. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission. Additional underbody photographs can be seen in the gallery below.

The September 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists emissions testing and registration history in Illinois and South Carolina.
