This Mercury Marquis & Grand Marquis got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1983 Mercury Grand Marquis coupe has remained registered in Colorado since new and was acquired by the seller in 2010, and now shows 32k miles. The car is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in two-tone silver and black with a black vinyl roof. Features include red leather upholstery, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a digital clock, and power windows. Work completed in 2019 included replacement of two fuel injectors as well as the coolant temperature and oxygen sensors. This Grand Marquis coupe is offered at no reserve with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in an optional two-tone palette with metallic medium charcoal (1B) lower and black (1C) upper sections deviated by red pinstripes along the body and hood. Additional features include a black vinyl roof covering, side body moldings, chrome bumpers and trim, an electric antenna, and Mercury-branded mud flaps. A mark on the vinyl roof covering is shown in the gallery below.
Turbine-style 15″ alloy wheels are fitted with 215/70 Big O tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted vented front discs and rear drums, and standard equipment on Marquis models included power-assisted steering and coil-spring suspension with a front stabilizer bar.
The cabin is equipped with seats upholstered in dark red leather, with color-coordinated carpets, seat belts, and door panels. Wood trim accents the dashboard, and amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows along with a cassette stereo.
The multi-function steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows under 32k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller.
The 5.0-liter V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Work completed in June 2019 included replacement of the coolant temperature and oxygen sensors as well as two fuel injectors. The seller states the engine cycles when cold, runs lean, and hesitates under hard acceleration, and the air conditioning system has a leak.
Rust is visible to some underside components and hardware. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Colorado since new.
