This 1983 Volkswagen Scirocco Wolfsburg Edition is finished in red over black leather upholstery and powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes aftermarket 15″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, a hatch-mounted spoiler, body-color fender flares, and an Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo. The car spent time in California and was featured on BaT in 2017 before being acquired by the seller in July 2020. Service completed in 2020 included a compression test, an oil change, a coolant flush, an alignment, and the replacement of the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, clutch assembly, valve gasket, driving belt, front tie rods, thermostat, steering column, and power mirror motor. This Scirocco shows 129k miles and is offered at no reserve in Arizona with the removed wheels, partial service records, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in red and with matching side skirts and fender flares. Additional features include quad headlights, black bumpers and side mirrors, black side moldings, and a rear hatch-mounted spoiler. Stone chips are visible on the hood, and photos of paint-meter readings are included in the gallery below.
SuperLight 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 195/50 Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires with 2019 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and Wolfsburg Edition models were equipped with front and rear sway bars. The front tie rods were replaced and an alignment was performed in 2020. The removed wheels are included in the sale.
The cabin features seating trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Additional equipment includes manually-adjustable sport seats, power windows and locks, Scirocco branded floor mats, and an aftermarket Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller states that there is a crack in the dash, the leather on one door panel is separating, and a power mirror motor was replaced in 2020.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a digital clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 129k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.8-liter inline-four was rated at 90 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque when new. Service completed in 2020 included a compression test, an oil change, a coolant flush, and the replacement of the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, clutch assembly, valve cover gasket, accessory drive belt, thermostat, and steering column.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
Manufacturer’s literature, three keys, and service records since 2017 are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, and it lists history in California and Arizona since 1990.
