This Nissan Z31 300ZX got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1984 Nissan 300ZX Turbo is a 50th Anniversary example that is finished in Light Pewter Metallic and Thunder Black over black leather upholstery, and it is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 16″ turbine-style alloy wheels, removable roof panels, a rear spoiler, automatic climate control, and cruise control. The car is said to have sat unused for approximately 20 years until it was acquired by the seller in 2022. Work under current ownership included replacing braking and suspension components as well as the tires, fuel pump, thermostat, alternator, air conditioning condenser, and distributor cap and rotor. This Z31 300ZX Turbo shows 108k miles and is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The 300ZX Turbo 50th Anniversary Edition was produced to commemorate the five-decade anniversary of Nissan’s founding in December 1933. This example is finished in Light Pewter Metallic and Thunder Black, and exterior features include Nissan, Datsun, and 50th Anniversary badging as well as removable T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, a hood scoop, a rear window wiper, a rear spoiler, and side skirts with “Turbo” script. The windshield washer pump was replaced under current ownership. Rust is visible on the right-rear quarter panel and right-front fender. The 16″ turbine-style alloy wheels feature gold accents and are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner. The front and rear brake pads, rotors, and hoses were replaced under current ownership along with the tires, front ball joints, front tie rods, sway bar bushings, and front and rear shocks.
The two-place cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather with 50th Anniversary embroidery on the backrests. Interior amenities include power windows, automatic climate control, and cruise control. A rip is visible in the driver’s seat and the Bodysonic cassette stereo does not work. The front speakers are said to have been replaced under current ownership, and replacement rear speakers are included in the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames digital instrumentation consisting of a speedometer, a tachometer, an inoperative fuel gauge, and readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 108k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The seller states the speedometer works intermittently.
The turbocharged 3.0-liter VG30ET V6 is equipped with an aftermarket muffler and was factory rated at 200 horsepower and 227 lb-ft of torque. Service under current ownership included recharging the air conditioning system and replacing the following components:
- Fuel pump
- Thermostat
- Alternator
- Air conditioning condenser
- Distributor cap and rotor
- Spark plugs and wires
- Various belts and gaskets
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. The clutch and primary and secondary clutch cylinders were replaced in August 2022. Corrosion is noted on underbody components
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in New York. A gap in entries is present between August 1984 and April 2002.
