This 1985 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is powered by a 5.7-liter L98 V8 that was supercharged with a Carroll/Vortech kit in the mid-1990s, and in 2016 a Tremec five-speed manual transmission was installed. Finished in white over Graphite gray leather, the car is equipped with the Z51 Performance Handling Package, a Dana 44 rear differential, a Borla exhaust, 17″ wheels, a removable roof panel, and a Delco-Bose sound system. The car was sold new by Artsma Chevrolet of Wyckoff, New Jersey and remained with the original owner’s family until 2015. The current owner acquired the car later in 2015 and has since added approximately 1k of its 4,700 indicated miles. This modified C4 is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a window sticker, an owner’s manual, service records, a removed set of wheels, spare and removed parts, a Carfax report, and a clean Arkansas title.
The car is finished in white and features a removable tinted-glass roof panel, pop-up headlights, fog lamps, heated side mirrors, and quad exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes that the right-front headlight cover displays a different paint finish from the surrounding bodywork, and a chip in the finish is noted below the front license-plate area.
A set of chrome ZR-1–style 17″ wheels were installed in 2016 along with 275/40 front and 315/35 rear Sumitomo tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, and braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The Z51 Performance Handling Package added a heavy-duty suspension with Bilstein dampers.
The cabin features sport bucket seats upholstered in Graphite leather along with matching carpets and door panels. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver seat, a Delco-Bose sound system with an AM/FM/cassette stereo as well as cruise control, and an onboard computer. The blower motor works, but heat is not produced and the air conditioning does not blow cold.
The two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a digital instrument panel that includes a speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel-level display as well as numeric readouts for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel economy. Auxiliary gauges have been added to the driver-side A-pillar, a Carroll digital messaging system is located above the stereo, and controls for the water-injection system are positioned adjacent to the shifter. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 4,700 miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Due to the transmission and gearing changes, exact mileage is unknown.
The 5.7-liter L98 V8 was modified in the mid-1990s with a Carroll/Vortech “B” supercharger package with a water-injection system. Other features include Air Flow Research aluminum cylinder heads, an MSD ignition, exhaust headers, and a Borla exhaust. The valve-cover and intake-manifold gaskets were replaced in 2016 and again in 2019. The battery was replaced in 2022.
A Tremec five-speed manual transmission was installed in 2016 in place of the factory four-speed manual. A Dana 44 differential with a 3.75:1 final-drive ratio was added in 1996. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
An owner’s manual, a shop-manual CD, correspondence from the original owner’s widow, and receipts dating back to the 1990s will accompany the car. The window sticker shows selected factory options along with a total price of $27,968.
Removed parts that will convey with the vehicle include a set of turbine-style 16″ wheels, a four-speed manual gearbox, an intake manifold, cylinder heads, an aftermarket tachometer, and other items.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and contains four entries spanning from 2004 through 2015 in New Jersey, North Carolina, and Arkansas.
The Arkansas title bears the remark “OD Exempt”.
