This Ford F-Series 1980-1986 got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1985 Ford F-250 pickup was delivered new to Dee Thompson Ford of Gladstone, Oregon, and spent time in Washington State and Wyoming before it was returned to Washington in 2010. Refinished in black and silver over a reupholstered red cloth interior, the truck is powered by a 460ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip differential. Additional features include the XLT Lariat and Explorer D packages as well as 16″ American Racing wheels, KYB shocks, power steering, power windows, a sliding rear window, and a Sony CD stereo. This F-250 was recently acquired by the selling dealer and is now offered at no reserve in Oregon with a Deluxe Marti report, manufacturer’s literature, a paint sample sheet, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington State title.
The truck was finished from the factory in Deluxe TuTone Raven Black and Silver Metallic (1E/1C), and the selling dealer states that it was repainted in its factory hue approximately 20 years ago. Features include red side stripes, bright swing-away mirrors, a chrome grille, a receiver hitch, and a sliding rear window. The reverse lights are inoperative, and additional flaws include a chip in the windshield, wear in the chrome, and imperfections in the paint finish.
Polished 16×8″ American Racing Baja wheels are mounted with 285/75 Maxxis Razr MT tires showing 2018 date codes. The truck is equipped with power-assisted brakes and steering in addition to KYB shocks and locking front hubs. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have included the replacement of the axles seals, front brake calipers and pads, and rear brake shoes and cylinders.
The cab features a bench seat trimmed in Canyon Red cloth, and the selling dealer notes that the center portion of the seat was reupholstered. Equipment includes XLT badging, woodgrain trim, cruise control, all-weather floor mats, a Sony CD stereo, and power windows and door locks. The air-conditioning compressor has been removed, and cracks are present near the dashboard speaker.
A two-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and sits ahead of an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and four auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, and a 144k mileage entry is listed on the Carfax report in May 2007. Total mileage is unknown.
The 460ci V8 is said to be topped with an Edelbrock 650cfm four-barrel carburetor as well as an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. The truck is also equipped with a modified dual exhaust system with replacement stainless-steel tips. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck received a limited-slip differential from the factory, and additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
The Deluxe Marti report lists the factory color scheme, equipment, build statistics, and a production date of April 17th, 1985.
Manufacturer’s literature, a 1985 F-Series brochure, two sets of keys, and a paint sample sheet are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Oregon, Washington State, and Wyoming through the most recent entry in August 2014.
